2023 Recipients of Alexandra Skiba Memorial Scholarship in Association with 10 ARTS Foundation and New York Film Academy

In cooperation with 10 ARTS Foundation, we are proud to announce the three 2023 awardees of the Alexandra Skiba Memorial Scholarship:  Oleksandra Kulyniak, Caio Torretta and Taban Ibraz. The 2023 awards support next-generation storytellers who are currently enrolled at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) in pursuing their passion for the crafts of filmmaking and acting. Alexandra Skiba was a star student who attended NYFA’s Acting for Film program in Los Angeles, California.

Oleksandra Kulyniak, BFA Acting (LA)

Oleksandra Kulyniak is a Film Acting student at the NYFA/Los Angeles. She is Ukrainian. Since she was a kid, her dream was about becoming an actor. She came to the U.S. at 17 to achieve this goal for the past few years.

While acting is her passion, she has other hobbies including violin, piano, tennis, yoga, dancing. She speaks 4 languages fluently: Ukrainian, Russian, English and French.

Caio Torretta, BFA Filmmaking (LA)

Caio Torretta, 20, is originally from São Paulo, Brazil. He was always interested in the arts, and explored the intricacies of music, learning about the importance of fashion in our lives, understanding the impact architecture can have in society, and more importantly and falling in love with how filmmaking applies all of that and more. He attends NYFA in Los Angeles to further his knowledge on the subject.

Taban Ibraz, 1-Year Filmmaking (NYC)

Taban is a journalist and content creator from Afghanistan. She started my career in media industry at very young age by breaking traditional taboo’s — her first role was anchor in the morning show at a national television.

”From the beginning of my career, my goal was to be a role model for girls and women in Afghanistan and to give them hope”.

After moving to the United States, she continued to pursue her passion in the media industry by working as a freelance content creator to fill the gap of quality and new perspective in the media industry. She is based in Washington, DC.
